About

For 25 years, Book Magic has helped authors polish and strengthen their manuscripts through copy editing, manuscript evaluations, and proofreading. With extensive experience in a wide variety of genres, we provide the expertise and attention to detail needed to strengthen your writing while respecting your unique voice and vision.

Whether you’ve written a gripping mystery, an epic fantasy, a heartfelt memoir, a business book, or a children’s story, Book Magic offers the editorial guidance to help you refine your manuscript and get it ready for publication.

You might be wondering if professional editing is still necessary now that AI tools can quickly fix errors in grammar and punctuation.

AI can be a helpful tool for catching basic errors, but it can’t understand your voice, your message, and what you’re trying to achieve as a writer. Writing that’s heavily edited by automated tools can lose some of its warmth, personality, or natural tone.

This is especially important for fiction and memoir, where voice really matters. A memoir should sound like you—not like something polished into generic, impersonal writing.

We keep your natural voice intact while improving clarity, flow, and correctness so your manuscript still sounds like you—just stronger and more polished.

While we work with all genres of fiction and nonfiction, Book Magic has a special appreciation for memoirs, autobiographies, and personal life stories, especially those shaped by meaningful or complex experiences. Of course, we also work with authors whose stories aren’t defined by hardship. Every life has turning points, and memoirs come alive through how those moments are told. We help all writers shape their experiences into engaging, honest narratives that feel true to their voice.
